What's New: 2020 Airstream Basecamp
The Airstream Basecamp is a small, compact trailer that that is ready for anything. Whether it’s a weekend of skiing or a day of mountain biking, the Basecamp has room for all of your gear and gives you a place to unwind after a day of adventure. For 2020, the Airstream Basecamp has received some updates and improvements to this already amazing Travel Trailer.
New Interior Décor Option
One of the biggest changes for 2020 is the introduction of the “Forest Ridge” interior décor in addition to the Red Rock, River Rock, and Glacier Lake décors. The new nature-inspired Forest Ridge option features emerald green color seating with yellow stitching and overhead bars. The new interior is designed to reflect the great outdoors where many of your adventures take place.
The Glacier Lake décor also has a few minor updates including a gray diamond pattern with orange stitching on the seats, as well as orange overhead cargo bars.
Interior Updates
Aside from the new décor option, the Basecamp has also received some other improvements to the interior. Many basecamp owners would make modifications in order to provide more seating configurations, well Airstream has listened and applied these changes to the 2020 model. The updated split seating area gives you the option to have two seats, one seat, a full bed or a half bed. The seat cushions are also now 3 pieces in order to accommodate the various seating configurations.
Another change for 2020 includes redesigning the table and legs. The new quick-release latch and new floor pucks make converting the seating area into a bed much easier than in the past.
Other small details include the addition of more interior hooks for clothing and gear as well as a redesigned rear-door latch to ensure that your Basecamp’s back door will stay open even in strong wind.
Tent System Upgrade
A new Inflatable Tent System option is now available on the 2020 Basecamp. The optional tent system attaches to Basecamp’s exterior curbside and expands your living and storage space. The newly designed tent uses “air-tube” technology instead of tent poles. Simply attach the tent to the exterior rail system and inflate the structural tubes with the air pump.
